Merry Christmas everyone!
Dan surprised me with a gorgeous diamond necklace. I love it, I really do. And I have let him know that, numerous times. But that didn’t stop him from telling me later that he felt bad about not being able to get me something a little bigger, a little flashier. Now I feel bad that he feels bad. He spent a few hundred on this necklace, but honestly, it isn’t the money that makes it of significance. And it isn’t the diamonds. It’s the fact that he took the time to pick out such a beautiful gift for me.
But of course he doesn’t see it that way. He doesn’t see that in relation to what he makes a month and what bills we have to pay, he dropped more than he should have. All he sees is that the diamonds in the necklace don’t quite make up a carot.
