Daniel’s grandmother passed away yesterday morning. For God knows what reason, Dan wasn’t told about he passing until he was at work. He called me, sobbing uncontrollably. I would have given anything to have been there to hold him in my arms.
He was able to leave work immediately, as the other manager who was there told him she would get coverage for him, and made the appropriate calls. So Dan left, and spent most of the evening with his family.
He came home to me, and I simply snuggled with him on the sofa for the longest time. Then we had dinner, watched a movie, and went to bed together, where I did my best to ease his grief and suffering, or at least take his mind off of it, in the ways men and women have been doing for one another since the beginning of time.
