I’ve never been much of a gamer. As a kid I had a Super Nintendo, a NES, and a Sega Genesis. I loved Super Mario World, Mario Brothers 3 and Sonic the Hedgehog 2. I played the first with my friend Christine, the second with my friends Melody and Heather, and the third with my best friend, Todd. I have very fond memories of all three of these gaming systems and their games. In fact, I would love to own these systems, as I haven’t been very good with getting the hang of 3d… 2d is so much easier for me.
For Christmas a couple years ago (2001, I think), my husband bought me a PS2 and a few games, including Grand Theft Auto 3 and Smuggler’s Run. At the time he bought it knowing that me fascination with it was a passing thing, and that once we moved in together he would have an awesome gaming system at his disposal.
In the fall of 2003 we purchased a GameCube. Funny thing… we purchased it with his unemployment check. It was the only money we had for that week. But, we had food and gas and our bills were paid, and he really wanted the system, so we bought it.
Now he’s drooling over a wii. He’s drooling even more because my mother bought a wii for my brothers, and they’re playing it at our house right now.
Me? I’ll pass on the games, thanks.
