Hello!

My name is Jenn, and I'm a 27 year old married and babied chick. In addition to a husband, a seven year old daughter, and a five year old autistic son, I also have four cats, three hermit crabs, two frogs, a few fish, and one snorty little Pug. I work from home doing a variety of writing and even some web design. I love blogging, digital photography and web design.

About Kitty.nu

Kitty.nu has been around for several years. Once upon a time it was home to my personal blog (you can find that over at Jenn.nu), but it now serves as an outlet for my domesticated and wifey type ramblings.

Well, Here I Am

Category:

So Jenn has finally kinda coerced me into writing a blog.  I’ve never really been able to keep up on one of these things before, (I tend to lose interest in them very quickly) but she’s been hounding me to try again so she can get a little peek into my innermost thoughts.  I wouldn’t think they’re really all that interesting, but she wants to know, and I think I might have something to say, so I’ll give it a whirl.

I figure that I can use this space to try to talk about some of the things that interest me, specifically games and game related stuff.  Jenn usually doesn’t have much interest in talking about it, but I know from her that some of the readers of her blogs do.  Hopefully I’ll have some kind of audience for this stuff.  In any case, I’ll be able to toss out a few of my thoughts and maybe she might even get a better clue of what makes me tick. :D

So anyway, I plan to try writing at least once a day even if I don’t have a whole lot to say at once.  I’ll probably just pick a topic that’s been on my mind lately and say something about that.  Since this is supposed to be game-related, I’m going to start by listing a few of my gaming tendencies and preferences.

Currently I’m playing a lot of Final Fantasy XI online.  I love the Final Fantasy series in general (in fact, I’m working on playing through the whole series one by one- working on FFIV now), but this one here has been the biggest time-sink for me.  Ask Jenn about it, I’m sure she’s bitched a lot about the time I’ve wasted on it.   Anyway, I’m pretty big on RPGs.  I can’t really explain why, but the whole system and story tends to draw me in a lot more any any other types of games.  I do like a bit of action and adventure too (God of War was fun, can’t wait to get the sequel) but not as much as RPGs.  Strategy games are nice too, but I prefer ones that don’t get too complex.

Oh, I might as well mention what systems I’ve got.  I’ve got my computer (of course), but I usually don’t do a lot of PC gaming.  I prefer consoles, such as my PS2.  That one’s my favorite simply because of the sheer variety of games it’s got.  Been having a blast with Guitar Hero lately.  Even Jenn likes that one.  I’ve also got a GameCube, but not a huge amount of games for it.  I do a little bit of retro gaming (NES, SNES, etc) but I dislike using emulators if I can help it.  Hopefully at some point in the future I’d like to get a PS3 and a Wii, but that’s a pretty hefty price tag right now.  I’d even like an XBox 360, but that’s just over the top.

Anyway, I’ve rambled on enough for now so I think I’ll start on a new post tomorrow.  I’ll probably end up saying something about FFXI or World of Warcraft, but I’m not sure yet.  If anyone has a comment or question, please feel free to leave a comment or email me and I’ll try to talk about it.  See ya later!

  1. Final Fantasy Tactics Advance for the gameboy is my favourite final fantasy game that I have been able to play thus far. I have a gamecube. My brothers have a PS2, Wii and two gameboys and one DS. We have loads of games. lol. I only play a few. Right now the game I am mostly into is World of Warcraft, which you mentioned briefly. That game holds my attention the longest because of all the things there are to do. Do you have the expansion? I just got it last week and so far I’m loving the new races.

Jenn is right, some of her readers, like me are big time gamers :D! I wish I could get my fiance to blog too haha. It’s a shame he won’t :P. there needs to be more hubby and boyfriend blogs out there damnit! But I would definitely read and comment if you did ;) . Not all of us chicks are non gamers :D! I’m a big WoW junkie, currently GM of what was pre-expansion an end game raiding guild (cleared BWL and halfway through AQ and 2 bosses into Naxx pre-Xpac).

But yay! You should blog! It’s good for you, even if you don’t think others read it :D!

I think its a good idea that you try to blog every day — even if you don’t have much to say. My personal feelings towards blogging is that people should write. Even if its “Today, I ate a baloney sammich” because sooner or later, that sentence’ll turn into something like “Today, I ate a baloney sammich and and there was a worm on the bread” (or something). In any case, it gets people to write which I think, is just good for the person :D.

I want to play FFXI, except I can’t afford to cough up the fee every month :x I also don’t have the money to afford any other console than the antique Playstation I have. Half of the time, it doesn’t even read the disc. Plus, I don’t have a whole lot of games for it, so I’ve been playing FFVIII over and over again. I don’t know if you’ve gotten there yet, but its an awesome game :D FFIX was more fun though (even if the main character had a tail and most of the other characters looked like hippos).

I’ll stop nerding out on your journal now :B

Ps. How in the heck did Jenn manage to get you to blog? I wanna get my boyfriend to do that . . . .

FFXI was the first RPG type game I ever played. I wasn’t much of a gamer but I really liked it. I do know, however, that much of the gaming community didn’t like it so much. )= Oh well.

Even though you babble on about your games, I still love reading what you have to say. :)

I’ve played just about all of the FFs out there. I’m just playing through them all *again* in order this time.

I’ve played quite a bit of WoW, but not in a while. While I did enjoy that game more than FFXI for the soloability factor, FFXI keeps drawing me in simply because of the enormity of it. I think I’ll make a post about that over at my new site :D
