The bedroom in our last house was very, very bright. We had three windows, two of which faced west, and the other faced north. There were not a lot of trees around our house, and we were up on a hill, out in the open. So, we got lots of sun. All. Day. Long. It really disrupted my sleep, because even though I would be tired, I could not remain asleep in such a bright room unless I was heavily drugged, which didn’t happen after I ran out of the post c-section pain killers!
Even with light filtering/room darkening blinds and navy blue panel curtains, it was still too bright. Ugh.
The bedroom in this house, our house, really, really rocks. The part of the house the bedroom is in is situated under a group of large trees. The bedroom itself has one window, which faces northwest. The bedroom itself is painted in a light, cool shade of blue, and we have the light filtering blinds up and the navy blue panel curtains hung up. When the blinds are closed and the curtains are drawn, the room is dark.
I love it.
