In case you’ve been living under a rock, the Police have come out with an awesome compilation CD. The police cd was released on June 5th 2007 and is available at just about every store. Of course, you can probably buy it online, too – check out thepolice.com for more information that.

Even though the Police may be considered an 80′s band by some, I really enjoy their music. The combination of soft rock music and touching, thought provoking lyrics is enough to keep me listening to their music again, and again. Sting is great with his own music, but I definitely prefer hearing him with the Police.
My favorite Police song would have to be “Every Breath You Take” (lyrics found here). It has been remade a few times by other bands, and while I enjoy those remakes, the original is my favorite. It’s a very sweet, poignant song that hits close to home for me, with regard to several different situations that have come up in my lifetime. Just by listening to some of the remakes you can tell that the Police have influenced other bands, but none have come close.
Roxanne is a close second, but that’s because I love the way the Police caterwaul out, “Roxxxxxxxannnnnnnnnnnnnne”.
My husband and my mother are also Police fans, so I’m thinking of picking up copies of the police cd for both of them.
