It’s 3:00am, and I’m wide awake. This happens almost every single night. My two “I’m sleepy and wanna sleep right now!” times happen around 5-6pm and again at 10-11pm. After that? I’m wide awake, no matter how much sleep I got the day before.
I’m in bed right now, with the laptop on my lap. I like being in our bedroom. I’m not in it nearly enough. I enjoy the solitude, the peace, the quiet. The hum of the air conditioner, the swish of the washer, the rumblings of the dryer… it’s all very soothing. Pair those noises with the soft lighting and crisp blue (very light blue) of the walls, and you have a very comfortable, relaxing environment.
Speaking of which… it has already lulled Dan to sleep. He’s next to me, snuggled up against my side. We’re weird that way… after nearly five years of living together and sleeping together (obviously), give or take a few months in 2004 when we had just moved back from Pittsburgh and were living with our families, we must sleep with some part of our bodies touching. Usually it’s back to back.
How do you and your significant other sleep?
