I’m sure you have walked through a security metal detector at one point or another. I know I have, several times. I don’t mind metal detectors, except that I used to set them off with all of the jewelry and piercings I wore, so I would either a) hold up the line and submit to a body pat down and scanning, or b) struggle to remove about two pounds worth of jewelry as quickly as possible.
But metal detectors and other security devices are very important, especially when they are placed in and used in schools, night clubs, stores, prisons and airports. The purpose of metal detectors is to detect guns, knives and the like, and you definitely don’t want any of those items in any of the above mentioned places!
