My mom got lucky with having me as a kid. My interests in activities were limited to playing at the playground, rough housing with my friends (all boys – I was a classic tomboy), roller skating, and riding my scooter (are scooters even made nowadays?) and riding my bike. I wasn’t into soccer or hockey or baseball. In fact, I couldn’t care less about any of those sports, and several others.
However, I can’t help but wonder if I’ll be as lucky! Will Alyssa want to ride her bike or play volleyball? Will Ryan be content to rough house with the neighborhood boys and build stuff, or will he want to play football or soccer? Dan knows football and some baseball, and I don’t know much about any sports beyond the basics (baseball: three strikes, you’re out, run around the bases, home runs, etc.).
In the event that I do find myself with one or both kids who are interested in sports, I guess I’ll have to educate myself with great sports instruction. playsportstv.com is a site that offers parents and those interested in learning sports hundreds of videos and loads of detailed instructional content on many different sports, including basketball, soccer and football. The instructional content featured on the site isn’t just limited to basics and plays. Oh no, in addition to that, there is a lot of information on sportsmanship and tips and guides for parents to help their kids learn all about sports and be well rounded athletes.
