My name is Jenn, and I'm a 27 year old married and babied chick. In addition to a husband, a seven year old daughter, and a five year old autistic son, I also have four cats, three hermit crabs, two frogs, a few fish, and one snorty little Pug. Have I mentioned how much I hate Walmart? Yet, here we are, about to head out there yet again tonight. On my own, I never go to Walmart. While Target is a bit more expensive, and their hours are restrictive (closing at 10pm/9pm on Sundays as opposed to Walmart’s 24 hour availability), I would much rather shop in a cleaner, slightly classier environment. Besides, Walmart is about four miles further from my house, so I console myself with the fact that not only am I NOT paying money to a company that treats employees, both local and overseas, and the areas their stores are in like shit, but I am saving a bit of gas and helping out the environment. It’s definitely a win-win situation.
But with my mom? Despite her watching the Walmart documentary and encouraging me to, she shops there ALL of the time. Her latest buy from them were GE griddles that don’t cook pancakes very evenly. Needless to say, they’re going back. I told her that if she wants to buy me a griddle, get one from Target.
