In late August/early September of 2005 I lost a filling. Actually, it may have been a little bit before then. At the time, I didn’t have dental insurance, and we couldn’t afford the out-of-pocket costs for a filling replacement. So I tried to not chew on that side of my mouth, brushed my teeth extra well, and hoped for the best.
As my luck would have it, “the best” was simply not to be. In late August/early September the tooth that was filling-less became weakened from the open space in the middle of it, and part of the tooth chipped off. Thankfully, this tooth was situated right in front of my molars on the upper left side of my mouth, so I didn’t have to worry about appearances.
Instead, I got to worry about pain, and loads of it. Within a few days of the chip, the tooth became extremely sensitive. Hot and cold foods and liquids were unbearable. Certain sweet foods, such as chocolate and spaghetti, were agonizing. A simple bite of chocolate or a few Spaghetti-O’s would have me sitting perfectly still, holding my face in my hand while my tooth, surrounding gum and jaw seemed to throb in rhythm with my heartbeat. Sometimes my entire head felt as though it were pulsating.
Needless to say, before I was able to scrape together the money to go to a dentist, I suffered a lot of pain from that chipped tooth, thanks to a filling that fell out.
Believe me, if I had known about Dentemp OS, which is temporary dental repair, I would have jumped through rings of fire to purchase it and use it. Dentemp OS is a one minute solution consisting of over-the-counter dental cement. It works to protect teeth from damage and infection as a result of loose or lost caps, and lost or broken fillings. Dentemp OS is clinically proven, and since it is over the counter, you can find it anywhere!
