If you haven’t already, I suggest you upgrade to the newest version of WordPress, which you can grab from here. Upgrading should be a breeze. Deactivate all of your existing plugins, or remove the plugins from the wp-content/plugins directory, download copies of your WordPress theme(s), and make a copy of your database for safe keeping (just in case something goes wrong).
Once you have your copies and backups, upload the new version of WordPress, allowing overwrites to take place. Finally, re-upload your themes. Note that you may have to make some template changes if you are using plugins that are not WordPress 2.3 compatible (view the compatibility list here). To my knowledge, MOST of the plugins are compatible. At least, all of mine – about three dozen – are!
I did have one slight issue with Alex King’s Twitter Tools plugin, but that was quickly remedied with this fix.
The best thing about WordPress 2.3? Integrated tags! Kiss Ultimate Tag Warrior and the other tag plugins goodbye.
