Our plans for Alyssa’s birthday on Saturday are coming along nicely. Late last week we moved up the party time from 3pm to 2pm. This will give us plenty of time to wrap up the party and guests, and then head with all of the guests to Dan’s uncle’s house for a Halloween party.
Today I finally ordered the birthday cake.
And tonight I finally settled on food for the party. Since it’s going to be wet and cold and generally miserable on Saturday (last year it was brisk and sunny; the year before warm and sunny, for comparison), I’m going to make a big “soup” of boiled down potatoes, a bit of milk, chopped up pieces of ham and green beans. I’ll also have hot dogs (for those who don’t like the “soup”), macaroni and cheese, salad and snacks. Yummy!
