The Mist by Stephen King is coming out on November 21st, and my husband has already requested that day off from work and plans on going to see it. If he’s lucky, he’ll be dragging me along. Not so lucky for me. Don’t get me wrong, I like a good movie, and I appreciate Stephen King’s talent, but I hate suspense and horror. And gore. Gore is especially high on my “do not like” list. But again, I appreciate Stephen King’s talent, and the movie does look good.
Seeing the mob mentality and panic and such reminds me of the few times I have been snowed in at work or at home. It’s amazing how the stress and uncertainty can really eat away at a person’s nerves, and turn them and everyone else involved into rabid, not always rational thinking fools. In those situations, I tried to stay calm and mediate for both sides, playing Devil’s advocate, if you will. While it is stressful to think about being stuck in a particular place for what could be several days or even a week, it’s a dangerous mistake to act irrationally.
Anyway, are you planning on seeing The Mist? Maybe I’ll go and see it. Maybe.
