Our hot water heater broke on Wednesday night. I knew something was up when the bath I drew for Ryan started out warm enough, but was ice cold when I came back about ten minutes later with a naked and more-than-ready-for-his-bath baby. After that, we had no hot water whatsoever. Just cold, cold, cold.
On Thursday afternoon, Dan opened up the water heater to see what was up. Ah-ha! Corrosion and rust around the electronics panel. Yep, we had ourselves one very well broken water heater.
So today, well, yesterday, as in Friday, since we’re now well past midnight and thus into Saturday, Dan and I went water heater shopping. We spent about $300 on the water heater, and a little more for installation supplies and a few tools.
Sadly, we still do not have hot water, and will not have any until Saturday afternoon. Installation went well enough, until Dan overtightened a PCVC tube/line fitting and cracked it. Also, he lost some sort of cap required to connect the electrical wiring to the water heating. Way to go Dan. *eyeroll*
