Bored with my hair

I have a lot of hair. It is thick, and somewhat coarse. My mother always compared it to horse hair (gee, thanks Mom!). My hair is also very straight. But, while my hair is ideal for many different hair styles, it is also a pain. I need larger size clips, or the clips fall out. I need thicker, bigger, stronger hair bands, lest they break (which is VERY painful if the band has a metal clasp!).
But I get tired of straight. So, last week I picked up a box of hot sticks.
First try, using all seven of the large (green) sticks:
Not a lot of curl, but definitely a nice amount of wave!
Today I decided to try once again. I think I failed miserably, as I wound up with a big POOF, and not much else:
I think I know where I screwed up. I used too much hair with each green roller. I think next time I’ll use less, and incorporate the smaller, pink rollers for a more varied, wavy result!
