Happy Thanksgiving!

So I’m here sitting on the sofa with my laptop, Simon curled up next to me, the television droning on about San Quentin, and a belly full of Thanksgiving dinner. Yay tryptophan, for adding to the sleepiness I’ve been battling against succumbing to since about 6pm.
Dan and I made the rounds to his family this year. Only, instead of going to Dan’s mother’s house, and then his aunt’s house, and then his grandmother’s house, and then his uncle’s house, we just went to his aunt’s house. Dan’s mother was already at his aunt’s house. Dan’s grandmother died last February, and Dan’s uncle is in the middle of some serious family drama, so we thought it would be better to not impose.
So, we had a late lunch/early dinner with Dan’s aunt and family, and then came back here tonight to make dinner for my family. We had turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green beans, dinner rolls, and pumpkin pie and Dunkin’ Donuts donuts for dessert.
I’m sleepy… BUT… I just remembered: we have to go decorate Dan’s place of employment tonight. Blech. Well, it won’t be too bad… Alyssa and Ryan are currently napping (YES, my kids are weird and “nap” at almost 11pm!!!), so they can run off their excess energy while Dan and I are busy decorating.
