I suppose I’m stating the obvious when I say that I help to supplement our income with the use of paid posts. It’s nice to be able to use an enjoyable hobby — blogging — as a way to make extra money. Of course, there are days when I just get so burnt out from writing, writing, writing, and then writing some more. My favorite types of content to get paid for are 1) links I toss in my sidebar and forget about until the expiration date and 2) banner advertisements.
Well, it looks like someone realized the appeal of offering bloggers and website and public profile owners a way of making some extra money without having to put forth much effort.
The new concept is known as Net Audio Ads. Net Audio Ads is pay-per-play (rather than pay-per-click) advertising. Bloggers may be interested in this type of advertising because the revenue is based on their traffic, rather than clicks or referrals or sign-ups. Publishers may be interested in the system because they can easily target their five second advertisements to specific demographics, locations and interests.
Net Audio Ads has been an active form of advertising for over two years, with 66,000+ advertisers having their ads placed on half of a million websites.
I admit, Net Audio Ads are not for me. I hate being bombarded by sudden bursts of unexpected audio on websites, and I would not feel comfortable doing so to others. But, there’s something for everyone, so I am sure that there are many readers who may be interested in learning more about Net Audio Ads. (In which case, check out web-audio-ads.net!)
