Went to bed at 3am, and dragged my butt out of bed at 8:30am. I knew I would be tired, so I asked Dan to set his alarm at 8:30am, so that between his alarm and mine, I would get up. It’s a good thing he did, because I had turned my alarm off and was about to fall back into the deep sleep I had been momentarily roused from! Alyssa was tired too, because she went to bed around 10pm the night before, and hadn’t napped.
Anyway, she was weighed (32 lbs.), measured (38″ tall), had her BMI calculated (I know it’s for health reasons, and it’s GOOD to keep tabs on, but I am still a little taken aback at the thought about worrying about a toddler’s BMI), had her mouth, ears, eyes, nose and stomach checked, and got four vaccinations. She cried, and I felt horrible. But her tears dried up as soon as she was offered hugs and kisses from me, and Disney Princess and My Little Pony stickers from the nurses.
Anyway, we came home and Dan and Ryan were still asleep, so while Alyssa chattered on about her visit to the doctor (now I’m thinking of buying one of those Fisher Price doctor kits for her to play with), I whipped up a nice brunch for everyone — homemade pancakes, bacon and sausage. We all ate, the dishes are in the sink, I made several phone calls and need to make one more (the line is busy, so I’m going to try back), and then it’s off for a nap!
