I will pay my accountant for filing my return so that I can pay more taxes next year because of the extra income. How do you get taxed twice on money that’s already yours and these generous folks will not even pay interest for the time they’ve had your money. What’s more is they’re not audited from what I understand.

Thanks for the info – I looked all around at the IRS site for specific dates and couldn’t find a thing. Where in the world did you find this?

What I plan to do with the money? We’ll be putting towards moving, deposit, down payment costs since our entire community is being evicted so that the world can have yet one more shopping center.

IF I DID THE EMERALD CARD DOES THAT MEAN THE SAME AS DIRECT DEPOSIT TOO? SHOULD I BE EXSPECTING A CHECK IN THE MAIL?

  6. Jenn wrote on #

    Hi Yosimar.

According to this article released by the IRS, no. The services that H&R Block provide, including loading refunds on cards, are basically refund anticipation loans. H&R Block gave you funds from *their* account, and then when your refund came in, they took it.

Because of that, the IRS does not have your bank account information, nor would they be able to access your Emerald Card. So chances are, your stimulus check will be mailed to you.

If it’s any consolation, my husband and I are in the same boat. We used Turbo Tax and had our refund direct deposited, but because we chose to allow Turbo Tax/SBBT to take the processing funds out of our refund, the IRS refund went to their account, and then to us. So the IRS does not have our bank account on file either.

I don’t have the same account that my irs money went into the first time. What’s going to happen? Is this check suppose to come in the mail or go automatically into that same checking account.

    Thanks,
    Lynn

    Hi Lynn,
The IRS will attempt to deposit your stimulus payment into the bank account it has on file. If it has been closed, the deposit will be rejected, and the IRS will then cut you a check.

Hi, according to your schedule, I should have received my automatic deposit on May 16th. It is June 14th and I am still waiting. What should I do? Bill R.

Bill, I recommend calling the IRS directly to find out what the delay is. The number I used (and got through to someone in nineteen minutes with!) is 1-800-829-0582, ext. 726. Good luck!
