So where is my day off?

On the days my husband works (five every week; varies from week to week), I get “I worked all day and I’m tired/sore/lazy” when I ask him to do anything beyond breathe without assistance.

On the days my husband doesn’t work (two every week; varies from week to week), I get “But it’s my day off and I want to relax/stay off my feet/sit around/rival the lack of activity of people in a vegetative state”.

I work every day. If I’m not cooking, cleaning, doing laundry, ferrying kids, buying groceries, running errands, wiping up snot, chasing after kids, putting things away or taking care of bills, I’m working: writing, writing, writing. If it isn’t for one pay to blog company it’s for another. Or it’s for one of my few private contacts, who send me writing assignments at any given time. Or for a combination of all of the above.

So as the title states: where is MY day off?

Do I even get one?

Somehow I think the answer to that question is no. :(

  1. Nope, you’re probably like me and don’t get one.

  2. Welcome to my life. LOL

  3. Can you say MONEY !!!! SHUT UP !!! Grow up at least your home all day not having someone tell you what to all day. You chose the life you live, if you wanted a day off you should have stayed single.

  4. Assert yourself – Just take one (or more)

  5. I have the EXACT same problem with my husband, though I am a student going over time verses having any kids. I have often had to try and explain that I not only do not have a day off, I do not get to “go home” after work, I’m already here all the time. You deffently feel the pain of many women.

  6. Everyday is my day off since I work from home and gets to take a break and hang-out with my kids anytime I want. :D

  7. I hear ya. I work 36 hours one week and 44 the next. So when I come home from work I’m pretty tired too. My husband’s work schedule is basically 6 days a week with one day off except during the summer when he pretty much lives at work. However, when I get home, I start doing laundry, dishes, paying bills etc. Do you know what my husband does when he gets home? Sits in front of the tv or Xbox and WATCHES me bust my ass around the house! I seriously don’t get it!!
