Laundry issues!

I am having an issue with a few white shirts that I think is fabric softener related. The white shirts go into the washer white, or mostly white. They come out, but with blotchy, light tan stains. What the heck!?

There was nothing else in the washer besides other white clothes, and then detergent (Tide he), bleach (Clorox Ultimate Care), and fabric softener (Downy Simple Pleasures). For what it’s worth, I have a front load washer, and the detergent, bleach and fabric softener were put into a separate dispenser that dispenses into the washer during the wash cycle.

I searched around, and found that the culprit is most likely the fabric softener. So that’s good to know. Now what I’d like to know is how to get these weird blotchy stains OUT of my clothes! If it’s any help, the clothes in question are a few white, 100% cotton t-shirts.

If any laundry goddess (or god!) knows of a solution, please share it with me!

Hello, I am new here but came across your blog over at the PU2B forums, as for the stains on the shirt. It happened to me as well with my white shirts but I had blue from downy of course. Pre-treat with your fave stain spray, I use Spray N Wash. I was a avid Shout person for a long time but now prefer the above. It does work to get the stains out. good Luck!
