Sympathy crying

When Alyssa was two and Ryan was right around three months of age, he started doing this thing where every single time she would cry, he would join in. At first it didn’t catch on. I thought I was just unlucky enough to have two crying kids on my hands. But then it started happening more frequently. I would tell Alyssa no, or take something from her, or ask her to do something she didn’t want to do, and she would whine and cry (she’s very good at whining especially). Ryan would see and/or hear her, and next thing I know, his little chin would wobble, his lower lip would come out, his eyes would fill with tears, and his face would crumple up. I would then have two sobbing babies to comfort.

One night I was taking a few pictures of both kids, when the crying unfolded right before my eyes, and right before the lens of the camera. I knew these photos would be great in the family album (whenever I get around to filling up that family album!), so I hurried and took a few shots before putting down the camera and comforting both Alyssa and Ryan
