The Simple Things

I love viewing the world and everyday routines and doings through the eyes of my children. Perfect example? The car wash. After getting Ryan’s hair cut, going to the grocery store, dropping Dan off at home so he could grab his car and go to work, and going to Target to return a few things (and wind up spending twice as much at the checkout, heh), I ran over to the car wash to clean our filthy Hyundai. I spent a good half hour cleaning out junk from the car, first getting rid of whatever I could pick up (including a surprise collection of rocks Alyssa never told me about!), and then crawling on my hands and knees with one of those large, industrial strength vacuums that charges $1.00 for about five minutes of use (worth avoiding the huge inconvenience of using an extension cord with a household vacuum!).

Then, the FUN: the car wash itself! I paid almost $10.00 to have the super long car wash that included a few dozen washes, a few rinses, and a double waxing. The kids were in awe of all of the soap and bubbles:

I love the looks on their faces. ♥

  1. LOL at the secret stash of rocks! Teehee! I think it’s cute they were fascinated by the car wash, I was TERRIFIED of it when I was Alyssa’s age!
