My name is Jenn, and I'm a 27 year old married and babied chick. In addition to a husband, a seven year old daughter, and a five year old autistic son, I also have four cats, three hermit crabs, two frogs, a few fish, and one snorty little Pug. My mom IMed me earlier this afternoon, asking if it would be okay for her to stop by after a doctor’s appointment (the office is literally four or so miles away). I said sure, and asked if she wouldn’t mind picking up a crockpot meal and bringing it with her. I figured her 2:45pm appointment would be over by 3-3:15, and she’d be here by 3:30-3:45. That would give the crockpot just enough time to cook the meal on high for it to be done when Dan got home from work tonight at 9.
…Only it’s 6pm and she hasn’t shown up. She hasn’t answered her cell phone, either. I hate when she pulls this crap. It’s rude. I was depending on her for dinner, and she knew it. If she changed her mind about coming over, that’s fine, but it would have been considerate of her to tell me, so I could have made alternate arrangements (aka pack up the kids and haul ass to the grocery store myself to get dinner, get home and get it set up in the crockpot).
So… who has quick dinner ideas?
