We live in an area that, thank God, is not prone to flooding. The nearest body of water is a small pond about a mile away, and a few little creeks a bit closer. The nearest substantial body of water, a large river, is almost twenty miles away, and we are uphill from it. Again, thank God. But I have often wondered where people start with cleaning up after a huge flood. Me? I would be so overwhelmed with where to start, and the pressing needs of my children, that I’d probably call in a restoration company. Sure, it may cost a lot of money, but they’re professional cleaners who know exactly what to do with cleaning up a home or business after a flood.
