When I was a kid, I had goldfish, lizards, tree frogs and african gray water frogs, and they all wound up dying on me. This is despite careful care, treating but not overtreating the water, keeping their habitats clean and temperatures just right.
So when Jason brought home a hermit crab for Alyssa (her very first pet!), I was prepared to be tossing out a dead carcass within a few weeks.
Well, we’ve now had the original hermit crab for almost six weeks, and she’s doing just fine. We bought her two friends over a month ago, and they too are doing just fine.

Those things look gross. Kudos to you, I don’t like touching things like that. *shudder* I’m a baby
Of course that’s because *I’M* taking care of them…
I’ve been giving them food and water as they need it, and checking on the tank’s temp and humidity level.
