Nyquil hangover

Nyquil is great because it really knocks you out. Sore throats, congestion, stuffiness and coughing mean nothing when you’re unconscious. The bad thing is that the effects of Nyquil are pretty potent. For me, this means being knocked out within an hour of taking it, and needing at least eight to ten hours to fully sleep off the stuff. Today I woke up, and even though I had enough sleep (about nine hours), I could not shake the sleepy fog that was hovering over me. :/

So I didn’t go back to sleep. I did reading and cuddling with the dog. Nothing heavy like researching futures trading, but simple stuff, like a book a man wrote about his fall from a six figure income and complementing lifestyle to being a barista at Starbucks. It’s a very good read!

Once upon a time, I got a REALLY bad case of bronchitis. I was in college and, by the time I got to the doctor (four days after the symptoms began), I was really dying. In addition to an inhaler and antibiotics, my doctor gave me this WONDERFUL cough syrup with codeine in it. That stuff was seriously awesome. Not only did it take care of my coughing problems, but it also put me right to sleep, and I hadn’t slept well for several days. It’s amazing how much a good night’s sleep can help you.
