My name is Jenn, and I'm a 27 year old married and babied chick. In addition to a husband, a seven year old daughter, and a five year old autistic son, I also have four cats, three hermit crabs, two frogs, a few fish, and one snorty little Pug. We planned Alyssa’s birthday party for Sunday at 3pm. Yes, her birthday is actually on Monday, but we thought Sunday afternoon would be a better choice, considering work schedules (something I often take for granted since I pretty much make my own schedule) and such. Well, out of the thirteen people we invited, only two people will be able to make it. Two people will be hungover, one person is out of town, two can’t get a ride because the third is… well, I won’t go there, and the others have work schedule conflicts.
I know that birthday parties should be about quality and not quantity, but I feel really bad because we had such a huge turnout for Ryan’s birthday party, and for all of the other birthday parties we had.
So, what should I do? My mom suggested rescheduling the birthday party for next weekend, but there’s no guarantee that people would be able to make it to that party date. Dan suggested Monday, but Alyssa is already excited about doing a Trick or Treat night at a local shopping center.
Grrr… I’m really torn over this. Well, I guess Dan and I will figure something out between tonight and tomorrow!
I’d try to reschedule if it’s possible for more people to come. I hope you figure everything out!!
