Is it Halloween time yet?

For over two weeks I have been hearing that question from Alyssa. I feel so bad telling her no when she sees all of the decorations everywhere, but dear god there wouldn’t be a moment’s peace otherwise! That’s like today — Monday. There is a special Trick or Treat thing going on at a shopping center, and we plan on going (it’ll be our third year). I’m not going to tell her until it’s time to get ready to go, because otherwise she’d be nonstop all day long.
She did get some of that Halloween itch out of her over the weekend. On Saturday, we went to a Halloween-themed bonfire that Dan’s aunt and uncle do every single year. It rained like hell all day long and into the evening, but between the huge, roaring bonfire, an outdoor canopy and a huge shed/miniature barn, there was plenty of opportunity to stay dry. 
There was plenty to eat, plenty to drink (though probably not anything you’d find at a wine of the month club, lol), and plenty of socializing.
