Hello!

My name is Jenn, and I'm a 27 year old married and babied chick. In addition to a husband, a seven year old daughter, and a five year old autistic son, I also have four cats, three hermit crabs, two frogs, a few fish, and one snorty little Pug. I work from home doing a variety of writing and even some web design. I love blogging, digital photography and web design.

About Kitty.nu

Kitty.nu has been around for several years. Once upon a time it was home to my personal blog (you can find that over at Jenn.nu), but it now serves as an outlet for my domesticated and wifey type ramblings.

My Kia Spectra has AC once again!

Category:

About a month or so back my mom gave me my car back after a few days of borrowing it, and remarked that the AC didn’t seem to be working. Well, not only was the air conditioning not working, but the blower was sending out hot air, regardless of the dial settings. Even with the AC set to on and the dial turned to 100% cold, nothing but hot air would be generated. Obviously, this has been presenting a bit of a problem, since summer is just around and the corner and it’s been getting a bit hot!

Well, after an afternoon that wasn’t too hot, but definitely humid, I came home and anxiously awaited for Dan to get home from work, since he promised he would check the freon level and top it off if needed. Well, he was out the door with the can and back in within ten minutes, which seemed a little too quick for my liking. My apprehension was well-founded, because Dan reported that the lines were nice and cold and the replacement can’s pressure gauge reported a full supply of freon.

So, I hit up the internet, and within a few minutes found someone asking about their Kia Spectra and why it would be blowing hot air. Someone responded with instructions to check out a little switch that is located beneath the dashboard on the passenger side, right where the passenger’s left would be. Apparently that little switch can get switched from regular/AC mode to 100% heat mode without too much wiggling around. Well, Dan and went out and checked, and lo and behold, the switch was pushed over! It took maybe 0.02 seconds to flick the switch back, and just like that my 2002 Kia Spectra began churning out air conditioning again. Yay! :)
