Food is good

Tonight at the hospice center my mom and I pulled up the website of a local convenience store, figured out what we wanted to eat, and then jotted down a little list. I handed her the list, my car keys, and then went for my wallet… no card. Its little slot was empty. I dumped out the contents of my purse. Still nothing. And with all of the stress and the upset going on right now, it took me at least ten minutes to figure out where I last used it (yesterday afternoon, at a McDonald’s that is almost 40 miles from here). Anyway, I had a delicious (and probably calorie-laden) cheese & jalapeno pepper burger and a side of macaroni & cheese, and a few Oreo cookies for dessert. So terribly bad for my weight loss, I know. But honestly, despite the bad food I’ve been eating, I didn’t gain as much as I thought I would. In fact, I didn’t get anything. My weight jumped up by seven pounds, but it must have been water weight, because as of this morning I weighed what I did a week ago. Not bad, considering I’ve had several meals consisting of convenience foods and fast food!

So I IMed my friend Jason, and he graciously agreed to do a food run for us. Thankfully he isn’t too far from here. Thank you so much Jason! And I called the McDonald’s that I left it at, and they indeed had it, so I made arrangements to pick it up on Wednesday afternoon.

Not much is happening right now. I’m watching a few boring commercials on moving companies Los Angeles, and Jason is here with his laptop. I’m feeling incredibly sleepy, but I don’t know if I want to go to bed just yet. Eh, maybe I will, and I’ll read a book to help knock me out. I brought along Emily Giffin’s Baby Proof and Stephenie Meyer’s Breaking Dawn. Which one should I read? ;)

  1. That depends. :) Which one haven’t you read? Personally, I loved Breaking Dawn. :)

  2. Charity, I’ve read them both. ;) It’s just been a while… I read Breaking Dawn last October, and Baby Proof last summer. I cycle through my books, lol.
