April 11th, 2009 is the date when I first began actively trying to lose weight. I’ve been watching portions, and keeping a close eye on how much I consume by tracking calories and fat grams. I’ve been incorporating some extra physical activity, and weighing myself every single day, in the morning, after I go to the bathroom but before I drink anything or get dressed.
It’s been almost three months now, and to date I have lost roughly 30 lbs. I say roughly because I keep going up and down. It’s amazing how much a person’s body weight can fluctuate in one week, just from retaining fluids, eating too much salt, experiencing hormonal changes (hello PMS!), and so on and so forth.
30 lbs. doesn’t seem like a lot when you stretch it across three months, but honestly, these last three months have absolutely flown by, and breaking it down on a weekly basis, I’m losing roughly 2.7 lbs. per week. That’s not bad since I’m not killing myself, and I have slipped up here and there. Plus, June has been a really horrid month, in terms of eating properly. I think I’ve had more fast and “quick” foods in the month of June than I’ve had in the entire year so far! Blah.
But overall, I’m still proud of myself. Rather than rely on fat burner reviews to find a “quick fix”, I’ve been working hard at losing weight the old fashioned way. It’s discouraging to have such a slow progress, but it feels good to be able to say that I’ve done it all on my own. Plus, while I don’t see much of a difference, except around my neck and collarbones, I can certainly feel the difference. Also, a lot of my clothes are fitting better. Whoo hoo!
Here is a before & after comparison. The before photo is from April 26th, and the after photo is from two nights ago.
