My name is Jenn, and I'm a 27 year old married and babied chick. In addition to a husband, a seven year old daughter, and a five year old autistic son, I also have four cats, three hermit crabs, two frogs, a few fish, and one snorty little Pug. Ryan’s birthday isn’t for another few days, but because our friend Jason is leaving for the beach this weekend and can’t make it to the birthday party on Sunday, he came over earlier tonight with a cake and present.
Can you tell that Ryan was happy? He loved the cake and candles, and was all smiles as he sang along with us as we sang him Happy Birthday.
I still can’t believe he is going to be three. Three. Three years ago this time I was experiencing early contractions and counting down the hours to the morning of July 26th, 2006 with a mixture of excitement and dread. Excitement because my baby would be born, dread because I would have to have a c-section in order to have him.
Now he’s a big lapful of little boy, all smiles and little boy smells and full of giggles and shrieks and chatter. He loves to climb in the pet beds, mock-scold Leah as we do when she has done something wrong (“Bah burl!”, he tells her), color, and play with or do anything that has anything to do with letters and numbers. I found a little pack of alphabet stickers in the One Spot bins at Target, and they entertained him for hours today. HOURS.
Whew. I have had such a headache lately, and continuously dealing with an annoying case of dizziness and vertigo. I think it’s the stress and running all about. I just want life to settle down! This weekend is busy for sure — party! We’re having about 20 people altogether, including Danielle and Matt. It’s sure to be a very good weekend.
