While we were at the beach and on the boardwalk, Alyssa and I picked out an Eco Aquarium, which came with two frogs and a snail. Only stupid me didn’t have the little booklet full of guidelines to follow, and so I screwed up the whole aquatic eco-system by:
- Putting the tank in direct sunlight. Hello algae overgrowth!
- The overgrowth of algae and such polluted the tank, which killed the snail
- The dead and disintegrating snail added to the tank’s pollution
- I dumped the tank and cleaned it, but over-rinsed and over-scrubbed the “living gravel”
- So when I put the tank back together and added water, the same thing happened all over again
- So then I bought a newer, BIGGER snail and special algae wafers for it, thinking the problem would be solved
- No such luck, since the “living gravel” wasn’t working properly anymore
- So I ordered replacement living gravel, decorative gravel and snail, and re-did the tank AGAIN
Here’s to hoping it stays crystal-clear this time!

And just think of all the poor little snails you killed to get to this point ; ;
