I have never been a morning person. Even now, with having two children, I routinely go to bed between 1:00am-2:00am. And on the really late nights, which seem to happen a lot during the summer and then again before Thanksgiving and Christmas, it’s more like 2:00am-3:00am. I have the intention of going to bed sooner, especially since I do like getting up early. But I fight the extreme drowsiness I feel between 6pm-9pm, and then I get a second wind, and then I get to cleaning, or working, or reading, and before I know it it’s 2:00am. Like last night. And then I waited for Dan to get home. And then he got home, but we didn’t go to sleep right away. So it was 3:00am when I fell asleep. I was only up this morning at 9:00am because Ryan woke me up that early!
But I am trying to turn myself around. And slowly but surely, I think it’s working. Despite being tired, I do really enjoy being up between 9-10. I get so much more done during the day. This morning, for example, I had showered, dressed, done my hair and makeup, done dishes, ran a load of laundry, scooped litter, read a book to Ryan and did some work all before 11:00am!
Alyssa and Ryan go back to preschool on September 14th, and so help me I WILL be going to bed by 1:00am by then!
