Five years

Dan and I celebrated our five year wedding anniversary on October 1st, 2009. I didn’t get around to blogging about it sooner (except on jenn.nu) because I have just been so BUSY. But yes, we celebrated our five year anniversary. We spent the late morning and early afternoon doing some errands, and then we came home, and Dan watched the kids while I showered. My mother came over to babysit, and then Dan and I went out. He treated me to a fantastic dinner at a high end, five star restaurant here in our area. It was lovely. ♥
The theme for the five year wedding anniversary is wood. Dan gave me a ceiling fan for our living room. Its base and assembly is brushed nickel, but the blades themselves are a rich mahogany. No monogrammed jewelry for me, thanks. I’m not much of a fancy jewelry person, so believe me, I was quite happy with the fan! And I gave him a pair of Skechers shoes that came in a thick recycled cardboard box, and a woodsy-scented Yankee candle that was appropriately titled “Fireside”.
We have now been married for five years and together for over nine years! ♥
