Hello!

My name is Jenn, and I'm a 27 year old married and babied chick. In addition to a husband, a seven year old daughter, and a five year old autistic son, I also have four cats, three hermit crabs, two frogs, a few fish, and one snorty little Pug. I work from home doing a variety of writing and even some web design. I love blogging, digital photography and web design.

About Kitty.nu

Kitty.nu has been around for several years. Once upon a time it was home to my personal blog (you can find that over at Jenn.nu), but it now serves as an outlet for my domesticated and wifey type ramblings.

Ode to Walmart

Category:

I have to give credit where credit is due. I loathe Walmart. I don’t like how they treat their employees, and I also can’t stand 99% of the clientele that shops there. Seriously, ghetto and white trash to the freakin’ MAX. I’m a Target girl all the way. The Target I go to is just five miles down the road (a straight run!), but the Walmart people stay at Walmart. Target is a world of difference. I’ll gladly pay the 2-5% more for each shopping trip in exchange for a peaceful shopping experience.

Anyway. I’m in between payouts from clients, so I sucked it up and went over to Walmart for some grocery shopping. My budget was $150. I walked out with a full cart of groceries (plus a pack of makeup remover wipes, baby wipes, a bottle of fabric softener and two bottles of lens cleaning fluid (for our computer monitors, laptop displays and sunglasses) for $132 (after $2.50 worth of coupons). I got meats, bread, English muffins, cheese, cereal, flour, soups, dairy products, and a few “quick meals”. Not bad, not bad. I probably would have spent closer to $150 at the grocery store, and I’m sure I would have spent about $135 at Target, but I wouldn’t have gotten most of the meats since my Target is, sadly, not a super Target.

Will it happen again? Probably not. I usually do a big shopping trip at a local grocery store (they’re not open on Sundays, hello annoyingly conservative town) every 2-3 weeks, and pick up the in-between things like milk and bread and frozen meats at Target.
