We visited with Dan’s paternal uncle, aunt and his sisters this evening, and the end of that visit and gift exchanging concluded Christmas for us. Wow. You know, you spend weeks preparing for Christmas, and it seems like it’s never going to get here, and then BAM, suddenly it’s here and you can’t unwrap presents fast enough, and the day is long and you’re tired and can’t wait to crash for a good night’s sleep… and then you wake up the next morning and Christmas is all over with, and suddenly the tree is a looming annoyance in your living room that needs to go, and you can’t wait to get out your standard dish towels.
And blah. As of Monday it’s back to the grind… back to writing about NC health insurance, health issues and whatever else Demand Studios throws my way.
Or maybe that’s just me?
In any case, Christmas was nice for us this year. Dan and I picked nice presents for Alyssa and Ryan, which they both like. Dan’s family, my mother and Jason picked out great gifts for the kids, including several sweaters, sweatshirts and long-sleeved outfits (boring gifts for the kids, but they make me happy!). Dan and I received candles, a spiffy plug-in Christmas-themed candle that glitters, gift cards to Walmart and Target, and cash (cash is always nice!). From our friend Jason we received a Kodak Zi8 Pocket Video Camera (for me) and Guitar Hero… 5… I think (for Dan).
Right now I’m oh-so-tired. I’m looking forward to washing off my make-up, taking my contacts out, curling up in bed with House and my sexy husband, sleeping in, and then running out to hopefully find a copy of Super Mario Bros., and then enjoying some of the afternoon with it.
