Having a three year old and five year old underfoot means that my house is rarely quiet. And since I’m up with them and running on the same schedule they do, when they go to bed at night around 8:00pm, I’m more than ready for bed within 1-2 hours after that. That little window doesn’t leave me a lot of time for peace and quiet, so this morning, even though I was tempted to go back to bed after sending Ryan off to preschool (since Alyssa is still asleep), I went ahead and stayed up.
Right now I’m watching House, and I’m feeling quite smug over getting our pain in the ass Philips Universal Remote to finally work with both our television (Panasonic) and our DVD player (Panasonic). Speaking of our DVD player, what grates me is that we still have the original remote for it, but the power button doesn’t work. And when I’m cocooned in a mound of blankets on a chilly night, the last thing I feel like doing is crawling out to turn off the DVD player. Now I just need to figure out if I can make it work with our mini surround sound system, and then we’ll be good to go!
