Hello!

My name is Jenn, and I'm a 27 year old married and babied chick. In addition to a husband, a seven year old daughter, and a five year old autistic son, I also have four cats, three hermit crabs, two frogs, a few fish, and one snorty little Pug. I work from home doing a variety of writing and even some web design. I love blogging, digital photography and web design.

About Kitty.nu

Kitty.nu has been around for several years. Once upon a time it was home to my personal blog (you can find that over at Jenn.nu), but it now serves as an outlet for my domesticated and wifey type ramblings.

My period was quite irregular from the time I started birth control (at the age of sixteen; I’ve had my period since I was twelve) until after I had Ryan. Birth control & being overweight no doubt had something to do with the irregularity. Breastfeeding my daughter until she was ten months old no doubt threw things out of whack a bit further. What’s funny is that after I had my son I was at my heaviest (300+ lbs.), and I also breastfed him until he was fourteen months old, yet my period was “regular as rain”, as my grandmother would say.

And ever since, even with stopping breastfeeding, gaining a bit more weight (I was 280 lbs. when my son was three months old; I was over 330 lbs. this time a year ago), and then losing almost 50 lbs., my period continued to stay regular. Then I had gastric bypass surgery, and things have gone to hell in a handbasket. Gone are the days (or should I say months) of 28 and 29 day cycles, and in their place are whacked out periods that I have no idea the start or end of. Here’s what I’m talking about:

My uterus doesn't know if it's coming or going
(Tracking provided by the lovely MonthlyInfo.com)

I have lost a sum total of 116 lbs., and with another 56 lbs. to go in order to reach my goal weight, I’m guessing the weird cycles are here to stay for a while. In the event that anyone post-op is reading this: have your periods returned to normal? Do they ever?
