I cannot believe how the prices of computers have dropped in the past five years. Five years ago my desktop computer — an HP a867c retailed for nearly $1600. The tower featured 1GB of RAM, a 3.2 GHz processor, a 250GB hard drive, two optical drives, a CD burner with LightScribe, wireless keyboard and mouse, and a 19″ LCD monitor.
You could get the same setup today for $300 or less.
Anyway, allow me to introduce my new, gorgeous, oh-so-sexy monitor — a beautiful 24″ widescreen LCD flat panel display that was less than $180 with tax, and was shipped for free (thank you NewEgg!):
