Wine hangover

I’ve tried wine a few times, and I’ve never really liked it. But last night, while at a wedding reception with Dan, I suddenly developed a taste for it. And how! In less than two hours I consumed two glasses of red wine, a glass of pink (?) wine, and several sips worth of red and pink from Dan’s glasses. I was totally tipsy, but man did I feel good. ;) I asked him what kind of wine it was, and apparently it was just the basic, economical boxed variety? Eh, fine with me… something that tastes good and is cheap? I’m all for it!

What’s weird is I think the “hangover” — headache and nausea and slight urge to vomit — hit me out of nowhere right around 11:30pm, which was about two hours after I had consumed the wine. The only thing I can think of is that since it goes into my body at a much faster rate (losing three feet of small intestine in gastric bypass surgery will do that to you), maybe I start processing it out faster?

In any case, I went to bed at that point, and when I woke up this morning I felt fine. Right now I have a slight headache, but I’m pretty sure that’s simply due to all of the running around I’ve been doing lately. Seriously, I have crammed so much activity into this past week, it should be illegal!
