We’ve lived in our home for three years and three months now, and my kitchen is still as boring as ever. The walls are beige, the cabinets and counters have been painted white (and it’s starting to chip at the edges), the appliances are white (nothing against them, but there’s just SO MUCH WHITE), and the laminate flooring is varying shades of cream, tan, and light brown. In other words, my kitchen is BLAND. It’s the one room of the house that I would absolutely love to makeover, if given the chance and the right amount of money. The first thing I would start with is the walls — I’m thinking a bright turquoise, a deep sage green, or a deep plum purple. Then I’d move onto the cabinets — maple finish, please and thank you. The counter tops? Light gray or charcoal gray, depending on the color we ultimately chose for the walls. And finally, the microwave would have to be replaced, as it’s black and I’d want a white one, as would the deep fryer (it needs replacing anyway), and possibly the toaster oven. Finally, I’d want a sink upgrade — something a little deeper, a little nicer. I’m all for stainless steel kitchen sinks, but the stainless steel kitchen sink that I have is on the plain side. I would want something a little deeper, a little nicer. It would definitely have to have a nicer finish, one that wouldn’t show scratches and little dings like my current one does!
I don’t know if/when this will ever happen, but if it does, at least the painting and kitchen sink replacement is cheap. It’s a lot of work, but without a lot of cost. And I would probably check out mrdirectint.com for stainless steel sinks. I’ve heard nothing but good things about their products and customer service!
