This is probably one of the lamer things I have gotten excited about, but it’s true: I can open my eyes underwater, and yes, I am excited about it. I remember being a kid and practicing opening my eyes underwater in my little inflatable kiddie pool, but I could never seem to do it, or do it for very long. I don’t know if my eyes were just that sensitive, or maybe I was just more of a pansy, or what. All I know is that I can open my eyes underwater at our local community pool, which is obviously chlorinated, and I do just fine. It feels weird, at first, but it doesn’t hurt and it isn’t really uncomfortable. Amazingly, I haven’t lost my contacts (I always bring a pair of glasses as a backup, just in case!), though I’m sure exposing them to water and chlorine and God only knows what other chemicals is drying them out and breaking them down faster.

I’m with you on this one, I still can’t open my eyes underwater, it’s like a thousand needles, that’s why I always have to use goggles!
