Saturday was awesome. Absolutely awesome. After eleven straight days of doing So Much Stuff every single day, Saturday was a day where neither of us ventured out. Partly because we just couldn’t stand the idea of going out again (Ryan especially had HAD IT with going out anywhere), but mostly because of the four inches of dense, heavy snow that Mother Nature dumped on us on Saturday morning and Saturday afternoon.
But even though we stayed home, Alyssa and Ryan couldn’t wait to get suited up and out into the snow. Ugh. I can’t wait until they’re old enough to stuff themselves into all of their snow gear without any parental assistance. Kidding. Well, mostly. Anyway, once said kid-stuffing was done, out they went, and a blast they had.
Yesterday Dan, the kids and I went to visit Amanda, her husband Austin, and her daughter Sophie. We exchanged gifts, sent the kids upstairs to Sophie’s kick-ass playroom, and after I rummaged through Amanda’s kitchen for Box Tops and nommed on some of her Chex Mix, we took a bunch of great photos. Then she bribed my kids and hers with sugar in exchange for a great picture of the three of them together, and shortly after Dan and I rounded up our two sproglets and we headed home.
Now it’s Monday evening, and I am tired. I drove down to Philly this morning to pick up my dad, then drove right back. He’s spending New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day with us. The drive tired me out a bit, but mostly getting only six hours of sleep last night is what has me wiped. I know it’s New Year’s Eve, but at the moment I’m doubtful that I’ll make it to midnight!
Talk to you next year.
