So the week before my gastric bypass surgery I got sick with some kind of crap that gave me a really high fever for about three days straight, and a horrible cough that just wouldn’t let up. I survived on Dayquil, Nyquil, Delysum, cough drops and codeine cough syrup, and managed to shake everything but a bit of a cough the day before surgery.

Two days before surgery I got my period.

I’ve been home from the hospital since the 20th, and have developed a bit of a cough right around that time. Alyssa and Ryan both have the same type of cough as well.

And Dan? He has something too… can you get a fever with a sinus infection? He started running a really high fever yesterday evening at his aunt’s house, so we left early, came home, and he went right to bed, even though it was barely past 7:00pm. He got up around 4:30am this morning to take some Nyquil and Mucinex, and then went back to bed until noon. Today he’s been consuming a steady diet of Mucinex, Tylenol, Sudafed PE and now some Zicam and a soothing throat spray.
Poor guy. He has been doing so much to help me out since my surgery, and now he’s run down and ill.

I’m also not sleeping well. I don’t understand it. In the hospital I understood why I was getting crappy sleep — a horrible hospital bed, discomfort and pain, and badgering from nurses every 2-4 hours, ’round the clock. But I’m at home. Our mattress is in perfect shape. It’s a double-sided pillow top, for god’s sake. I should not be struggling to fall asleep, waking up several times in the night and then popping up in the morning, tired yet restless and eager to get out of bed.

Here’s to hoping that as I start to feel better and get back into normal routines, I’ll sleep better. Otherwise… bring on the Nyquil? To tell you the truth, I’m very tempted to take that tonight. I just want to get a good night’s sleep!

I never used to take naps. Then I got pregnant with Alyssa. After having her, I still managed to sleep just at night, even though I was working outside of the home. I think it was being out of the house to work and being on the go constantly that kept me going. I simply came home at night and crashed.

Since being pregnant with Ryan, however, I have definitely been one for an afternoon nap. This has remained especially true during the first six months of his life, with having a toddler and a tiny nursing baby that didn’t sleep through the night until he was three months old.

I want a nap right now. I was up way too late — Kirin kept bothering me, so I didn’t fall asleep until almost 5am, and back up by 11 with Alyssa and Ryan. It’s dark and dreary today, and my body is craving sleep. Meh. :/

I went and crashed around 3pm. By 3:15pm I was out like a light. I really meant to be up by 5, because I wanted to take my printer to the UPS store for mailing today, but that didn’t work out. :/ Oh well. I told the eBay seller who purchased it that we were all sick, and it would be either this evening or tomorrow morning that I got the printer mailed. He only cared that I kept him updated on when it went out and all that jazz.

Alyssa just came in, crying, telling us about her pooping, and needing new underwear. She didn’t have diarrhea when she had the stomach bug Sunday night, so I really, REALLY REALLY REALLY hope she isn’t relapsing. I’ve had enough of vomit, thank you very much!

I’m tired. I ache. I’m running on maybe a combined total of four hours of sleep, and after eight or so hours of straight vomiting and purging, it’s amazing I’ve managed to be up and on the move for this many hours (I have been up since 11).

Dan is home from work and asleep, though he’s been up and down every little bit to get sick. Ryan won’t go down for a nap, so I bet he’s feeling a lot better than he did last night (last night he was a pale, pitiful mess that huddled in my arms under a blanket and sobbed pitifully whenever he threw up), and Alyssa is playing nickjr.com games on my desktop.

I’ve scrubbed both bathrooms, sanitized all of the surfaces in the house, and out of eight lined up loads of laundry, I have three done.

I think all of this great accomplishment calls for a NAP!

As Anna pointed out, there must be ice in hell, because I went to bed last night before midnight! The night before I went to bed a little after midnight. And both nights I slept through until 10:30am the next morning! The only exception is this morning, when I shot out of bed at 7am because I heard Ryan crying. It’s one of those instinctive mom things — I didn’t realize I was awake until I was down the hall and outside his bedroom door. Heh. Anyway, he was okay. He had fallen out of bed, so I cuddled him for a few minutes, gave him some nice Mommy kisses and then tucked him back into bed. I then stumbled back to bed myself, and slept beautifully until 10:30am.

I don’t know what’s up with the sleeping thing. The last time I slept like this, or last two times I should say, I was in the first few weeks of pregnancy, first with Alyssa, and then with Ryan. Wouldn’t that suck!? We don’t want a third child. Not right now, especially. A third child would mean more work, more aggravation, more money, a bigger house or squishing the same gendered kids into one bedroom, and definitely a bigger vehicle, as I can’t envision THREE car seats in the back of a Hyundai Sonata. This is me, praying that the plastic clamps on my fallopian tubes are intact. If this sleep thing and the tingling I’ve been feeling in my breasts (again, something that popped up in both pregnancies) continues, I’m going to take a test to ease my mind. Or kill myself, depending on the results.

Today. Ugh. I’m agitated, for three reasons:

MyBlogLog: I forgot my login password months ago. Despite submitting to have a reset code sent to my email address at least a dozen or more times, no reset code is ever sent. I contacted MyBlogLog support almost a month ago, clearly spelling out the issue (forgot password, reset code not being sent, help me access my account!). I received a reply asking me to clarify the issue (?!). I did, and heard nothing more. I submitted another support request today, with a bit of a scathing tone to it. Hopefully this will turn up an email monkey that actually understands basic English and can respond with a solution.

Pizza Hut: Anyone else see the $11.99 special for a large Meat Lovers’ pizza? Yeah, me too! Well, I ordered exactly that at Pizza Hut last night, and was charged $14.99. When I inquired about the difference in price, I was handed some BS line about the type of pizza I ordered. Huh? What type would that be? The Meat Lovers’ pizza size large type? Well, guess who’s submitting a complaint to Pizza Hut today. I want my $3 back!

E-Starr. I paid the hosting bill last Thursday morning. Granted, I paid by e-check, so I can understand the account remaining suspended until the check cleared. Even though it was always unsuspended right away in the past, without waiting for the check to clear… Well, that check cleared for sure yesterday afternoon. Almost twenty-four hours later and the account is still suspended. This is bad, because I am hosting my brother-in-law’s domains and several domains for online friends, all of whom rely on the uptime and availability of their domains in order to make money from web design, paid blogging, etc. The one person who emailed me back yesterday morning and the morning before was focusing on a forgotten password issue, and completely ignoring the elephant in the room (or in this case, the email). Since yesterday afternoon I have sent two or three emails and two or three support requests. So far, nothing. I am REALLY agitated about this!
